Sewer Repair
The vast network of sewer lines that run under almost any city, often remind us of a body's network of veins and arteries. And like our bodies, sewer repair at one time or another is often an urgent necessity. Especially if it's your home that needs the repair. Complete sewer systems haven't been around that long in human history, but sewer repair has been around as long as they have.
Tackling sewer repair, there are several ways to approach it. The all out method is to dig up the damaged pipe and replace it. What a mess that can make on your lawn. Another less invasive method of sewer repair is to dig two holes at the start and end of the pipe, then jam another one down inside it. This works if the pipe is reasonably smooth and perhaps just has cracks in the side.
A way to avoid major sewer repair is to have your system looked at once a year, and especially if you have some continuing blockages or problems with it. A maintained sewer system is one that flushes out each time and doesn't overflow. In old iron pipes there will probably be some problems down through the years.
As long as you can keep on top of it, there will be very few large problems with your system and a major sewer repair will not darken your future.
